Magnetic Slime

Do you want to make a type of slime that will actually move?!  Then make magnetic slime!  Using a neodymium, this slime will actually “follow” you! Enjoy! 🙂

To make magnetic slime you will  need…

  1. Liquid starch
  2. Elmer’s glue
  3. Iron oxide powder
  4. Disposable bowls
  5. A neodymium – rare earth magnet (a regular magnet isn’t strong enough)

How To Make The Slime

Step 1:  Pour 1/4 cup of liquid starch into a bowl.  Add 2 Tablespoons of iron powder and stir until well mixed.

Step 2:  Add 1/4 cup white school glue and mix.

Step 3: Take the slime out of the bowl and mix with your hands.  Squish and squish until it’s well mixed.   There will be some liquid left in the bowl that isn’t part of the slime, and that’s fine.

Step 4: Pat the slime with a paper towel so you get rid of liquid.

Important Notes

It’s not good to breathe in iron oxide powder.  This is why we mixed the iron in with the liquid starch.

These magnets are EXTREMELY STRONG! Don’t try to separate your magnets when you get them.  Keep them AWAY from all electronics!
